Mary Butler Blackston, age 80, of Carrollton, died Feb. 13, 2011, at Pickens County Medical Center.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at Cross Roads Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Robbins and Rev. Ricky Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Johnnie Mae Cockrell.

Survivors include a brother, James Butler of Carrollton; niece, Nancy Butler Robbins (Jerry) of Carrollton; and a great-niece, Kayla Robbins of Carrollton.

Mrs. Blackston was born Feb. 24, 1930, in Pickens County, Ala., to the late James Robert Butler, Sr. and Gertrude Wright Butler. She was a retired employee of Westinghouse Electric and a well-known resident of Pickens County.

Pallbearers will be Leon Oglesby, Rolston Oglesby, Dan O'Mary, Don Golden, Ricky Hill, and James Robbins.

Honorary pallbearers are Sonny Ray, Jimmy Vail, Jackie Ray, Girlie Hill Oglesby, and Joe Pogue; and caregivers Nikki Hudson, Betty Driver, and Eva Mae Hollingsworth.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cross Roads Baptist Church, c/o Dan O'Mary, 117 12th St. SW, Gordo, AL 35466.
