Mrs. Edith F. Humphreys Wimer, 77, a former resident of Elkins and Morgantown and a patient in the Westerville Manor Care Center in Westerville, OH, died at 8:50 a.m, Wednesday, after a lengthy illness.
She was born November 5, 1906 near Whitmer, a daughter of the late Wayne Humphreys and Chloe Lantz Humphreys. On October 14, 1923, she was married to Amos Wimer, Sr., who preceded her in death in September 1969.
She is survived by four sons, Richard M. Wimer, Anaheim CA; William L. Wimer, Talmadge, OH; Earl E. Wimer, Mechanicsville, VA; and Amos Wimer, Jr., Newport News, VA; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Slayton, Wilmington, DE; Mrs. Delores Cooper, Westerville, OH; and three brothers, Max and Neil Humphreys of Morgantown, WV, and Clyde Humphreys of Tunnelton, WV; ten grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, one brother and one sister.
Mrs. Wimer was a member of the Elkins Church of the Nazarene.
