William Scoates, son of Richard William and Sophia Senior, was born December 7th, 1852 in Ramsgate, Kent, England. He came to America when six months old. His home was first Milwanke, Wis. He come to Crown Point in 1877. In the year 1879 Mr. Scoates was united in marriage to Miss Emma Coffin, who, with four children, three sons and one daughter, morn the loss of husband and father.
