EAST LIVERPOOL - Hamilton C. "Ham" Davis, 77, of Curry Street, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at 10 p.m. at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Born Sept. 25, 1933, in Neffs, Ohio, he was a son of the late Hamilton C. and Ada Davis Sr. He spent most of his lifetime in this area, retiring from Nickles Bakery Company as a delivery man in 1996. Prior to that he worked for George Cook Distributing and the Braun Baking Company.

A 1951 graduate of Bellaire High School, he also was a member of the East Liverpool Moose Lodge No. 122 and the East Liverpool Elks Lodge No. 258, where he was a past exalted ruler, held several offices within the local lodge and was also a district officer.

His wife, Linda Davis, whom he married July 25, 1971, survives at home. He is also survived by one daughter, Karen Sue Scheetz and her husband, Charles, of Follansbee, W.Va.; three sons, Brian Davis of Poulsbo, Wash., Charles "Chip" Davis and his wife, Melody, of Peculiar, Mo., and Melvin Davis and his fiancee, Karen Prouty, of Breinigsville, Pa. There are three grandchildren: Christopher Scheetz, Maredith Leigh Davis, and James Hamilton Davis.

Friends may visit the family at the Dawson Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where an Elks service will be held at 7 p.m. Pastor Norm Eckert of the Beechwood Free Methodist Church will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Spring Grove Cemetery.
