Mary Edith McKinnon Bennett, 73, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1988 at St. Anthony's Hospital, Amarillo. Her home was at Fritch.
Mrs. Bennett was born July 10, 1914, in Pittsburg, Allegheny County, PA, the daughter of Lon McKinnon and Maggie Duffey. She married Herbert Bennett, Feb. 14, 1937, in Maywood, CA.
She and her husband lived in Eagle Butte, SD, where they operated a motel and farmed until December 1986, when they retired and moved to Fritch.
Survivors are her husband, Herbert (Tex) Bennett, of Fritch, a son: Bishop T. James Bennett, Edmonton, Alberta; Canada; a daughter, Betty Jean Rupp of High Rolls, NM; a cousin, Nince Rush, of Allentown, PA; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is the sister-in-law of Lucille Kelso and Ozette Rainey.
