Artis was a graduate of St. Martin in 1990. He worked at Pleasant Tire Shop as service tech and Isle of Capri in housekeeping. He loved cooking BBQ. Artis E. Baker, Jr. passed away Monday, December 3, 2007 in Pascagoula, MS at the age of 37.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, M. C. Jones and Latrel Baker; his grandmothers, Artetha Jones and Rosie Nicks; his aunt, Eddie Mae Jones; and godfather, James Sibley.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Baker of Gulfport MS; his companion, Norweda "Susie" Payton of St. Martin MS; his parents, Geraldine and Artis Baker, Sr. of St. Martin MS; his sister, Erica Baker; his brother, Christopher Baker of St. Martin MS; special niece and nephew, Franchot Canaan and Akiera Baker; and a host of step children, aunts, uncles, other family members and friends.
