Reinhold (Ronald) H. Abmeyer was born 14 January 1906 in Kansas and died 7 March 1993 in Oklahoma.
He was the son of Berthold Friederich Abmeyer (1872-1950) and Caroline Wilhelmina Felske Abmeyer (1874-1939). Both his parents were born in Germany and both died in Kansas.
Ronald (he apparently changed his first name but I do not know why or when) had 5 siblings (all brothers):
1. Arno Seigfried Abmeyer 1900-1992
2. Karl B. Abmeyer 1902-Unknown
3. Herbert Arthur Abmeyer 1903-1961
4. Erwin Abmeyer 1910-1988
5. Walter Abmeyer 1914-2003
His first wife was my aunt's sister: Roma Rosa Jones. They married on 5 July 1930 in Oklahoma. Roma was divorced with 2 daughters. Ronald then married Beulah A. Alexander on 11 April 1946 in Arkansas.
To my knowledge, they had no children, however there is a young man by the name of Kenneth Ronald Abmeyer buried here at Floral Haven, who died in Vietnam in 1967 . . . who just might be the son of Ronald and Beulah. With Kenneth having the middle name of "Ronald", the possibility that he is their son seems likely. More research is needed though.
After doing further research, I feel certain that Kenneth Ronald Abmeyer (FAG #65854509) was the son of Ronald & Beulah. I found their names on "a list of in-bound passengers" on board "the ship Exeter" . . . from Beirut, Lebanon (21 November 1950). Scant information states that Ronald Abmeyer apparently worked for a firm called Williams Brothers. The Exeter landed in New York.
I had contact today with another Find A Grave member (Billy M. Brown #46859520) and he confirmed that Ronald & Beulah were indeed the parents of Kenneth. Their names were listed on the Department of Defense Form 1300/Casualty Report (death in Vietnam 1967).
