Emogene was the daughter of William S Hatch and Evaline A Hyde. She married Edward Walton near Genesee Co, NY abt 1867, and lived in Pembroke NY until the 1880s or 90s when she moved to Ottawa County, Michigan, caring for her mother in Coopersville. Edward died in either NY or MI.

Emogene remarried George McCausey in 1903, and moved to Barry County, Michigan where she lived until her death.

Emogene's sister, Mary E (Hatch) Ziegler lived in Osceola County, Michigan, where she died in 1898.

Emogene and Edward had two children, Clara E and Charles Spencer Walton.
