Parents: First immigrants, Johann "Henry" Heinrich Hofer b. 1821 Bavaria, Germany d. 22 Nov 1883 Fraser, Erin Twp., Macomb Co., MI. Buried on a corner intersection, under what is now a gas station, in Fraser. The cemetery was the earliest German cemetery in the Fraser area. The name of the cemetery is still unknown to date, however, research continues.
Ona "Anna" Vogel b. 5 Sep 1825 Bavaria, Germany d. 26 Jun 1918 Fraser, Erin Twp., Macomb Co., MI from a heart attack at age 93. Buried in Halfway [now East Pointe], Macomb Co., MI. Name of cemetery remains unknown.

Maggie was adopted by a childless couple, John George & Dorothy Streeb(the Hofer's next door neighbors), between 1860-1870 (between age 2-12 yrs old).

John's parents were (1st immigrants) Frederick Grasser II b. 15 Apr 1827 Town of Baden Baden, Grand Duchy of Baden, Germany d. 18 Jun 1871 Detroit, Wayne Co., MI and Maria "Mary" A. [---?---] b. abt 1833 Town of Baden Baden, Grand Duchy of Baden, Germany d. 10 Jul 1897 Detroit, Wayne Co., MI. The family stated that both were buried in either Elmwood Cemetery or German Lutheran Cemetery (now Trinity), Detroit, Wayne Co., MI.
Margaretha's father and aunt, Johann & Catherine Hofer, came from Bavaria. They arrived at Baltimore 15 Jun 1849 on the ship "Delft". Her mother and aunt, Anna [Vogel] Hofer & Sophia Vogel, also came from Bavaria and arrived at Baltimore 13 Nov 1854 on the ship "Anne Lange".
John's parents, Frederick & Mary arrived 9 Dec 1857 on the "Bazaar", at Castle Garden with son Frederick Charles and Frederick Sr.'s brother Johann. Went immediately to Detroit, MI where other Grasser family members lived.

They had 9 Children:
