[sic: used the initials of son for this article] McGilvory [spelling] a former resident of this city, died at Oroville yesterday morning, after an extended illness from paralysis. The remains were brought to Chico last evening by A.A. Ward and taken to the undertaking parlors of Fetters & Williams, from which place the funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. today.
Deceased resided in this locality for many years and had a large number of acquaintances, but recently had been engaged in the county seat up to the time of his illness. He was a native of Toronto, Canada, aged 67 years and 16 days. He leaves several relatives in this city and vicinity.
