Alfred L. Martin, 75, formerly of Waldoboro died Tuesday morning at Cove's Edge after a long illness.
He was born in Bristol, a son of Walter and Stella Merry Martin, and attended local schools.
During World War II, he served in the Marine Corps in the Pacific.
After his military service, Mr. Martin returned to Waldoboro, where he lived for more than 25 years.
He was a fisherman and was employed at Sylvania and later at Vast, Inc. in South Bristol.
Mr. Martin was a member of the Waldoboro Lodge of Masons and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are five daughters, Heidi Washburn of Pace, Fla., Sonja Wyllie of Warren, Michelle Pinkham of Skow- hegan, Robin Philbrook of Waldoboro and Nikki Boniewski of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; four sons, Eric of Warren, Kurt of Damariscotta, Kris of Jupiter, Fla., and Kyle of Friendship; two sisters, Patricia Martin of Brunswick and Grace Penniman of New Harbor; and 11 grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Strong Funeral Home, where a service will follow at 5 p.m. Pastor Tom Wagers will officiate. Burial will be in New Harbor Cemetery.
