Hannah E., daughter of Moses and Rebecca Drake, was born on Jan. 12, 1822 , at Whitewater, Ind. She was the fourth child of a family of nine children. Her father died
when she was 18 years old. In 1847 she was married to Alexander Mikel, to which union were born four children, two preceded her to the spirit world in youth. Her husband died in 1857 and in 1861 she was united in marriage to Daniel Mikel and he died in 1881.

Leaving to mourn their loss are daughter, Mrs. Martin Mullin, of Elkhart; John R Mikel, of this place; two brothers and two sisters, six grandchildren and nine
great grandchildren. She was a member of the Baptist church and remained faithful until death claimed her on Feb. 28, 1908, aged 86 years, 1 month, and 6 days. Thus we see one by one our aged settlers passing away, who have done so much in developing the country.
Funeral was held at North Union where there gathered together a large crowd of people to pay their respects to her remains. Funeral conducted by Eld. H. M. Schwalm and
Henry Weldy, form John 14 chapter, 1,2, and 3.
