Alicia was often referred to as "Al" in family letters. She wrote often to her granddaughters, who knew her as "Mamboo." Those letters, along with her penmanship papers and school registration certificates, some dated 1863, are carefully preserved and have proven to be invaluable in my family research. Her gold wedding ring was passed down and my husband, Alicia's great-great grandson, gave it to me on our wedding day in 1990.
William and Alicia became the parents of Blanche, Constance, Katharine, and Henry John.
Alicia was preceded in death by her husband and by her only son, Henry John, who died in 1889 from diphtheria. She was survived by her daughters. Clarion, Iowa was Alicia's residence at the time of her death from pneumonia at the age of 76.
In our family tree, Alicia is my husband's much revered maternal Great(2)-Grandmother.
