Emmitt Harold Sconyers, Sr.

Mr. Emmitt Harold Sconyers Sr., 71, died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at Hillcrest Medical Center, Bristow, Ok.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hendley, Rountree, and Powell Funeral Home, Swainsboro, Ga., with Tommy Rountree officiating. Burial will be in Old Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Twin City, Ga.

Mr. Sconyers, a native of Emanuel County, Ga., was a Navy veteran and had retired as a farmer and carpenter. He was a member of Antioch Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, Emmitt Sconyers, Jr., and Wayne Sconyers, both of Bristow, Ok, Dana Sconyers of Claremore, and Carl Sconyers of Monkey Island, Ok; a daughter, Stacia Stubblefield, Bristow, Ok; two sisters, Louise Rountree, Twin City, Ga., and Sarah Heath, Langley, SC; and 18 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Emmitt Sconyers, Jr., Wayne Sconyers, Carl Sconyers, Dana Sconyers, James Allen Rountree, and David Rountree.

Friends may call at the residence of Louise Rountree, Clearview Apartments, Twin City, Ga. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
