"Mrs. Bertha Ritter, 76, of 729 S. 43d, died at 6:30 a. m. Saturday at her residence after a week's (sic) illness. She was the mother of the Most Rev. Joseph E. Ritter, bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Indianapolis.
She is survived also by her husband, Nicholas Ritter; four other sons, Carl Ritter, New Albany; Dr, Frank Ritter, Dr. Harry N. Ritter and Dr. Edmund J. Ritter; a daughter, Miss Catherine Ritter; two brothers, John Luette and Charles Luette, New Albany, and a sister, Mrs. Simon Schaefer, New Albany.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, New Albany. Burial will be in the church cemetery."
