Clemmie Mauldin, the daughter of William Taylor and Thenny Elizabeth Massengil Mauldin, was born in the Horsehead Community of Johnson County, Arkansas in 1876. She was one of 12 children. She had 7 siblings and 4 half-siblings.

Clemmie married Walter Gaston Watson in Altus, Franklin County, Arkansas on Jan. 20, 1894. Walter Gaston was the son of John W. and Caroline Carter Watson.

Clemmie and Walter Gaston Watson were the parents of 4 sons and 2 daughters.

Clemmie died of typhoid in Oklahoma Indian Territory before Oklahoma became a state in 1907.
