He served his country in the US Air Force from 1972-1976 stationed at Hurlburt Field, Florida.
Gary was a Welder/Machinist at Major Tool & Machine in Indianapolis for more than 30 years.
He was a lifelong member of Bethany Christian Church, was an avid sports fan, fisherman and carpenter.
He leaves behind many memories with his wife of 38 years, Judith (Reed) Smith; daughters, Rebecca Ann (Brock) Findlay of Pendleton and Beth Ann (Shaun) Williams of Pendleton; two grandchildren, Eliza Grace Findlay and Hunter Reece Findlay and an expected arrival of a 3rd grandchild, Ella Williams; sisters, Sharon (James) Reed of Carmel and Dianne (Robert) Duffee of Owatonna, Minnesota; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
