Russell Ray Fryman,
86, of Cynthiana, Ky. Died Monday, February 14, 2011, at Hospice Care in Lexington, Ky. He was born in Harrison County, Ky., November 10, 1924, to the late Hargis and Carrie Butler Fryman. Mr. Fryman was a member of the Boyers Chapel Church, where he served as Song Leader and Sunday School Superintendent. He served faithfully on the Lay Witness Program and the Harrison County Hymn Sing for many years. Russell sang at many of the Nursing Homes for the residents and had taken many people to Doctor's appointments and for dialysis treatments. Russell Ray was an Honorably discharged Navy Veteran, a retired farmer and tool and die maker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Jenkins Fryman, a sister, Florence Ruth Fryman and two brothers, Reverend Virgil Fryman and Marvin Earl Fryman.
Survivors include one son, James L. (Roger) Fryman, Georgetown, Ky., three daughters, Patty (Roy) Baker, Cynthiana, Ky., Peggy (Chip) Ellis, Mt. Sterling, Ky. And Debbie (Gary) Tipton, Cynthiana, Ky., one brother, Hargis (Ruth) Fryman, Jr., Harrison County, Ky., two sisters, Anna Elizabeth Derrossett, Henry County, Ky., and Clara B. (Jessie) Wood, Harrison County, Ky., Seven grandchildren, Kimberly (Ed) Moody, James Russell Fryman, Jeremy (Lynn) Baker, Julie (Steven)
Thacker, Matthew (Misty) Ellis, Kerri (Jon) Ours and Eric (Leah) Ellis. Great grandchildren, Emma Moody, Dylan and Jamie Fryman, Destanee Smith, Dakota Smith, Faith Jump, Kennedy Baker, Natalie Thacker, Mason and Madison Ellis and Caden Ours.
Services will be conducted 11 AM Thursday, February 17, 2011, at the Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home, by Rev. Jim Gaunce, Rev. Paul Fryman and Rev. Trey Brennan, with burial in Battle Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Wed. At the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Boyers Chapel Church or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
