FREDERIC "FRITZ" BALZ
Frederic "Fritz" Balz, 68 of 21812 Main Street (Rockville) died unexpectedly Monday, Sept. 25, 2000 at his home.
He was born August 22, 1932 in Manitowoc County, son of the late Arno and Sylvia Rehm Balz. Fritz was a 1950 Kiel High School graduate and a veteran of the US Navy.
He married Ramona Schulz in Dubuque, Iowa on November 8, 1957. Fritz operated Brooklyn Bar in Kiel for 15 years. After retiring from the tavern business he worked at the Schnapps Haus in Kiel and retired from H. G. Weber Co., Kiel. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel, Kiel VFW Post 6707, a charter member of Kiel Lions Club and served on the state board for the Tavern League of Wisconsin. In his spare time, Fritz enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Mona, one stepdaughter, Beverly (Ken) Stahl, Ranchester, Wyoming, four step-grandchildren, four step great grandchildren and one brother, Richard Balz. He is preceded in death on one stepdaughter, Barbara Miller and one step granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at St. Peter's UCC, Kiel with the Rev. Raymond C. Coombs officiating. Burial will be in Schleswig Cemetery, Rockville.
