Mr. Ott was a native and lifelong resident of Modesto. He was a supervisor and employed by the city of Modesto's water
department for 36 years and also was an almond grower for 35
years. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, the Old Fisherman's Club and San Joaquin Valley Swiss Club. He enjoyed gaming, farming and collecting old cars.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara M. Ott of Modesto; children, Louie Ott and Linda Ott, both of Modesto; brothers, Emil Ott of Modesto, Leo Ott of Oakdale and Walter Ott of Turlock; sisters, Hilda Gradle of San Jose, and Rosie Omlin and Ruth Strang, both of Modesto; and three
grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one sister.
The rosary will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, during visitation from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs. A Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, with burial at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.
