BLAIR -- Robert (Bob) F., beloved and devoted husband and father, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A long time resident of Albuquerque, Bob was born to Alfred Blair and Anna Blair (Coryea) on January 19, 1931. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps, seeing combat in Korea and polar bears in Greenland. He met the love of his life, Jeanine, who survives him, in San Antonio, TX. Married in 1953 they had 57 joyous years together and were blessed with six children: Dawn Lane and husband Richard, Bruce Blair and wife Peggy, Carol Blair and Jim Jacobsen, Brian Blair and wife Deborah, Dianna Blair and husband David Pattison, and Gavin Blair; 14 grandchildren: Bryan, Robert (deceased), Shawn, Jessica, Kelley, Leanne, Stephanie, Cherie, Aubrey, Jason, Chad, Sarah, Cameron (deceased), and Rachel; and four great-grandchildren. Living a long and active life he had varied experiences, interests, and hobbies. Bob worked 32 years in government service, primarily with the FAA, and was a long time bagpiper, Pipe Major of the Shrine Ballut Abyad Pipe Band, Col. in the NM State Guard, member of the Sandia Peak Ski Patrol, R/C airplane pilot, certified SCUBA diver, and licensed HAM operator who deployed with the UNM DMAT team. He enjoyed traveling with his wife. They had great adventures cruising the world and traveling around the country in their RV. His other interests included music, computers, astronomy, and photography. Viewing will begin at 6:00 p.m., on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at French Lomas Chapel. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 8:30 a.m., on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, Claremont and Vermont. Internment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Robert was the second of three children. His older brother Gordon Bernard Blair died in 1999. His younger brother James Alfred Blair died in 1989.
