Last Rites Held for Hester Colaw at Downs Church

The funeral service for Miss Hester A. Colaw was held from the Downs Methodist church at 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon. Rev. Mr. White was in charge of the service and was assisted by Rev. Mr. Doland.

Pallbearers were: Harry Brown, Ellis Kinsley, M. F. Coleman, Forest Coale, Fred Wilcox and K. B Lanier. Interment was made In Hopewell cemetery at Downs.

Miss Colaw died at 4:30 Saturday morning at the home of her sister, Mrs. Adam Waybright in Downs, following an Illness of several years with asthma.

She was born in Hyland county, Virginia, August 15, 1841. She had made her home with her sister for about forty years. She leaves to mourn her death two sisters, Mrs.
Almira Taylor, of Missouri, and Mrs. Adam Waybright, of Downs; three brothers, Ben, Sam and Marsh Colaw, all of Missouri, and four nephews, and one niece, Clark Taylor, and Walter, Ad and Leeslie Waybright and Bettie Louise Waybright, all of Downs.

Miss Colaw was a member of the M. E. church of Downs.
