Ruth Louise Rowan was the second child of 7 children born to John Hooton Rowan and Frieda (Roeske) Rowan. She was born in Bloomington, Illinois, but spent most of her youth growing up on a 5 1/2 acre family farm, near Heyworth, Illinois. She was nicknamed "Ruthie."

I have a post card from Ruth that was written to my mother, dated November 28, 1936. Ruth was on her honeymoon. She signed the card, Mrs. Roscoe Woodman. So we know she married Roscoe Heafer Woodman, in 1936. She was 16 years old.

Ruth gave birth to Roscoe Jr, on March 1, 1938. They had settled in Arcadia, Florida, and that is where her son, was born. He was her only child.

On 1940 Census Ruth's husband Roscoe, was a chicken salesman for a hatchery in Illinois, so we know they only lived in Florida for a few years, before moving back to Illinois.

This marriage to Roscoe Woodman ended in divorce and Ruth remarried, to Homer Eades in Bloomington, Illinois.

Family History noted by: Juanita Clark, Niece of Ruth (Rowan) Eades.
