Rozina M. Lyness, 82, died Friday, July 25, 2003, in the Good Neighbor Home after an extended illness. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, St. Mary's Catholic Church, by the Rev. Monsignor Ralph Simington. Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Ryan. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester, with a Catholic Daughters rosary at 4 p.m. Friends may also call one hour before services Monday at the church.

Rozina Marjorie was born Sept. 1, 1920, in Ryan, to Frank and Elizabeth Ammeter Keegan.

She attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls and taught school for several years in Buchanan and Delaware County schools.

Rozina was united in marriage to Louis Lyness on May 30, 1945, in Monti, and they resided on the Lyness farm until the death of her husband in 1978. She then moved to Manchester.

Survivors include a son, Louie and wife Beverly of Manchester; a grandson, Sean (Brianna) of Omaha, Neb.; a sister, Marion Blank of Mount Vernon, Ohio; a brother, Robert (Shirley) Whitney of Winthrop; and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Lyness of Ryan and Patsy Lyness of Greeley, Colo.

Rozina was preceded in death by her husband.
