Granby's Oldest Woman, Mrs. Crouse, Dies at 91

Granby, April 9 – Mrs. C. W. Crouse of Granby, widow of Charles W. Crouse, died Friday at the home of her son, Tracy E. Crouse of Granby. Mrs. Crouse was guest of honor at a party April 2 noting her ninety-first birthday. She was the oldest woman in Granby.

A native of Altmar, N.Y., Mrs. Crouse had lived in Granby for 45 years. She was a charter member of the Empire State Club and the Ladies Aid Society of First Congregational Church of Granby. Besides her son, she leaves another son by a former marriage, Chester A. Burleigh of Granby, and a granddaughter, Miss Barbara Crouse of Granby.

The funeral will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Hayes Funeral Home in North Granby. Rev. Otto J. Scheibe, pastor of First Congregational Church, will officiate and burial will be in Granby Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday evening.
