Connie Kay Maxwell was born Feb. 22, 1941 in Claremore, OK. She died July 18, 1964 in an car-truck crash along with her husband.
Connie attended school in Vinita, OK before moving to Carthage, MO in 1950. In Carthage she attended Mark Twain grade school and then on to Carthage High, graduating in 1959. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. In the years just prior to her marriage, Connie had played the piano for Vacation Bible School at the Avilla Baptist Church, Avilla, MO. Connie was married to Norman Ray Jones June 8, 1963 at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Harry Bennett, Carthage. Rev. Bennett was the pastor of the Avilla Baptist Church. She was survived by her parents, John K. and Clella Maxwell, sisters Donna Doerge and Johnna Maxwell all of Carthage. Also surviving were her grandparents, Ben and Goldia Maxwell and M. J. and Eva Anderson.

Rites for Mr. and Ms. Norman Ray Jones, former Carthage residents, who were killed in a car-truck crash at 1:30 a.m. Saturday on US 71 near Milo, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. M. A. Mitchell, Th D. pastor, will officiate assisted by the Rev. Harry Bennett, pastor of the Southwest City Baptist Church and formerly of the Carthage area. Burial will be in Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones was the former Miss Connie Kay Maxwell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John K. Maxwell, 505 Clevenger. Mr. Jones was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Jones, oute 3. The Norman Jones had been residents the last eight months of Excelsior Springs, MO.
