Norman Ray Jones was born April 21, 1942 in Carthage, MO. He died, along with his wife Connie, in a car-truck crash July 18, 1964.
Norman was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William (Bill) Jones, Carthage, MO. He went to Pleasant Grove Grade School east of Carthage. After graduation from Carthage High School in 1960, he attended Joplin Junior College, Joplin, MO. He was married to Connie Kay Maxwell of Carthage, on June 8, 1963 at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Harry Bennett, Carthge, MO. He was employed as a civilian for the National Guard at the time of his death. He was survived by his parents, a sister Joan Walton and his niece Donna. Joan died a few years later in a car accident. She is buried beside Norman and Connie.

Rites for Mr. and Ms. Norman Ray Jones, former Carthage residents, who were killed in a car-truck crash at 1:30 a.m. Saturday on US 71 near Milo will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. M. A. Mitchell, Th D. pastor, will officiate assisted by the Rev. Harry Bennett, pastor of Southwest City Baptist Church and formerly of the Carthage area. Burial will be in Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones was the former Miss Connie Kay Maxwell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John K. Maxwell, 505 Clevenger. Mr. Jones was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Jones, route 3, Carthage. The Norman Jones had been residents the last eight months of Excelsior Springs, MO.
