Rev. Henry Hosie Rowland was the son of Rev. Frank Salmon and Marion Jeanie (Hosie) Rowland. Mildred May (Arent) Rowland was his 1st wife. They were married August 9, 1911 and she died June 24, 1942. Ethel Mae (Somers) Rowland was his 2nd wife. She died June 23, 1974. He was a minister in the Genesee (now Western New York) Conference and North China Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church/The Methodist Church/United Methodist Church. While in the Genesee Conference he began his career as assistant minister at Rochester: First Church 1905. He was professor of ancient languages at Genesee Wesleyan Seminary, Lima, New York 1907-1908.
