Paul was the son of Paul Beaugrand Champagne and Sophronie Marotte. He was baptized on September 13, 1854 at St. Norbert in Berthier, Quebec, Canada.
He immigrated from Canada to Indian Orchard Massachusetts and then settled in Stafford Springs Connecticut where he resided for 45 years.
On June 28, 1879, Paul married Octavia Laliberte in Indian Orchard, Hampden, Massachusetts. In 1922 he retired from the lumber business in which he was a dealer for 20 years.
He was survived by four daughters, Mrs. Joseph P. (Evelina)Tellier, Mrs. Charles (Anna) Tetrault, Mrs. Edward Joseph (Maria Emma Alice) Morin, and Mrs. John J. (Octavia Clara) Introvigne. In addition, he was survived by five sons, Phillip, Arthur, Jerry, Edward, and Henry. He was also survived by a sister, Mrs. Marie Lavonie Raymond.
Paul was a member of the Saint Jean the Baptiste Society of Indian Orchard.
