Mrs. Harriet WOLFE FLIN, wife of Amos FLIN, died June 18, 1911, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H.C. HORR. She was the second of five children of Michael and Elizabeth WOLFE.
She was born in Warren County., near Lebanon, Ohio, on January 24, 1819. At the age of seven, her parents moved to Wayne Co., Indiana, where the remainder of her early years were
spent. On April 30, 1840, in Delaware Co., Indiana, she was married to Amos FLIN and thirty years afterward, in 1870, they moved to Kansas to a farm west of Frankfort (Marshall County). To this union were born 10 children, of which 2 died in infancy and 3 others passed away after they had reached matured years. Her husband died Feb. 13th, 1897, and the last years of her own life have been spent with the children. In the infirmity of the last few years she has been well cared for in the home of her daughter. Her death came very quietly and on a Sabbath noon, June 18, 1911, she entered into her Heavenly rest, having attained an age of 92 years, 4 months and 25 days. There are left to mourn her loss five children: Mrs. Mary A. STUMP: Mrs. Matilda OSBORN of Cottonwood Falls (Chase County, Kansas): Mrs. Amanda HORR, Mr. H. B. FLIN: and Mr. John M.FLIN, residing in Utah. Besides these, there are children to the 5th generation, including 28 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Before removing to Kansas she had made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ and identified herself with the Christian church in which she always held her membership.
Her funeral was preached from St.John 14:-2 "In my Father's house there are many mansions. If it were not so I would have told you."
Her home life was careful,cheerful, loving and tender. Her kind and righteous regards to humanity won to her many warm friends and true neighbors.
