Wilfred L. Chambers, 77, of Nickleville, Emlenton RD 1, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 24, 2007, shortly after his arrival at UPMC Northwest, Seneca.

Born July 13, 1929, in Eau Claire, he was the son of Wilfred C. and Rosetta Stewart Chambers.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Chambers had worked at Worthington Corp. and Greenville Steel Car and retired from Electralloy in Oil City. He attended the Faith Church of the Nazarene near Kossuth. Mr. Chambers enjoyed outside activities and spending time with his family.

On Dec. 29, 1951, he married Donna E. Busch, who survives. Also surviving are eight children, Wilfred L. "Butch" Chambers and wife, Kyong Cha, Valorie J. Carpenter and husband, John, and Christine D. Novak and husband, David, all of Nickleville, Steven C. Chambers and wife, Christine, of Kossuth, Keena M. Walker and husband, James, of Pittsburgh, Kimberly Warner and husband, Dennis, of Seneca, Lisa E.Lowrie and husband, Thomas, of Cranberry and Althea J. Reed and fiancé, Dave Teifer, of Georgia; 21 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He also is survived by seven brothers and sisters, Julia Grieff of Emlenton, Paul Chambers of Florida, Marilyn White of North Caroline, James Chambers of Massachusetts, Janet Chambers of Emlenton, Samuel Chamber of Texas and Dianna Leya of North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Chambers was preceded in death by a sister, Harriet Chambers; two brothers, Herman C. Chambers and William Chambers; and three half brothers, Donald Chambers, John Chambers and Hugh Chambers.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the David C. McEntire Funeral Home, 504 E. Penn St., Knox, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Faith Church of the Nazarene near Kossuth. Funeral services will be held in the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Fred Ryman, pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Nickleville Cemetery.
