Miss Edith Fields
Miss Edith Fields, aged 19 years, died Monday morning about 2:00 o'clock at the home of her mother, Mrs. harkie Fields, near Concord, after a long illness of tuberculosis.
Deceased was the oldest child of the late Albert Fields and was born in that section July 8, 1896, hence was in the 20th year of her age.
Besides her mother she is survived by three brothers and two sisters, also by a host of relatives and friends. Her death coming as it does at a time when she was just budding into young womanhood, makes it a particularly sad one. She was endowed by a sweet and amiable disposition, and was a favorite among her associates. She was a member of the Concord Presbyterian church and a regular attendant at the Concord Sunday School when her health permitted. Her death is a sod blew to her loving mother, sisters and brothers, but they mus bow to the will of Him who knoweth all things best. This is their saddest hour, and the dark clouds seem to hover close to them, but the sun will shine again, and they will remember Edith not in death, but only as a sweet dream, and with the assurance that they will meet her in that better land where there is no sorrow nor heart aches.
The funeral was held Wednesday and interment took place in the Lenoxburg cemetery.
