He was born in Lodi township. In 1896, he was married to Katherine Schittenhelm who survives him. He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Alber of York township, three sons, Carl of Carlton, Michigan; Otto of Jackson and Clarence at home.
Mr. Fritz had been janitor of the Trinity Lutheran church for 25 years and was a member of the church. [Saline Observer - Thursday 11 August 1938]
