Pati was the daughter of William Lewis Schall and Doris Ann Taylor Schall. She was the 4th of 7 children. She has 5 sisters, Teresa Ann Schall. Elaine Marie Schall Walden, Melanie Sue Schall, Dr. Tamara Schall Al-Kasey, Elizabeth Dawn Schall, a brother William Jr, and a step sister Ann Fanto. Pati has 9 children, including Ross Edward Schall, Alicia Frei Mclure, Brandon and Brian Frei. Alicia has a son Colton which would have made Pati a grandmother. She died of ovarian cancer at age 37.
