Timothy Hartshorn was a soldier in the war of 1812. He later settled at first on the farm owned by his father John. He later sold the farm and removed to a farm previously owned by Moses Barron and James Bell near the Bedford line. He was an industrious farmer and a good citizen. He was a selectman in Amherst in 1849.

DEATHS - In this town [Amherst NH], 25th inst., of pneumonia, Mr. Timothy Hartshorn, aged 75. [The Farmers' Cabinet, 29 Oct 1868]
