Mildred Adams Hurley, 83, of Smithville, Mo., passed away, Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006.

She was born on August 18, 1922 to Jack and Nellie (Narron) Gilreath in Marshall, Mo. where she grew up and graduated from high school.

In October of 1941 she was united in marriage to John T. Adams. After their marriage they lived in Waverly, Mo. Where they owned and operated the Blue Lantern Cafe from 1947 to 1951. In 1951 they moved to Smithville, Mo. Where Mildred owned and operated her own beauty shop. Later Mildred and John owned and operated Adams Hardware in Smithville. Her husband, John, preceded her in death on October 21, 1968. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother T.W. Finley and a sister Mary Uriciolli.

Mildred was a member of the Smithville United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her second husband, Leo G. Hurley, son: Ronald D. Adams and wife, Linda, Kansas City, Mo., two grandchildren; John Douglas Adams, Kansas City, Mo., and Shelly (Adams) Looker and husband, Bill, Garnett, Ks., four great-grandchildren; Ronnie and Amanda Adams, California and Billy and Cydney Looker, Garnett, Ks.

In Memory of our wife, mother, grandmother, who made our lives so much richer. We are heartbroken that we will no longer touch you or see you, but know you are by our side the rest of our days. We love you so much! We look forward to seeing you in our dreams.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 25th, at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, Mo.
VISITATION: 12:30-2:00 P.M., Wednesday, prior to the service.
BURIAL: I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Smithville
