His funeral will be 12:00 Noon Saturday, April 25, 2009, in the Christian Outreach Ministries, St. Stephen. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Schipmann was born Oct. 23, 1947, in Kingstree, SC, a son of William Rabb Schipmann and Violet Guerry Schipmann. He was a graduate of Macedonia High School and received his Associate's degree from Charleston Southern. He was an Army veteran of Vietnam. Mr. Schipmann was a member of the Christian Outreach Ministries where he was a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. He also organized and participated in the Lake Moultrie Nursing Home Ministries. Mr. Schipmann worked for the Navy Munitions Command Detachment Charleston for 39 years.
Surviving are, his wife, Barbara Harris Schipmann; a daughter, Michelle S. Crawford and her husband, Frank "P-Nut", of St. Stephen; two sisters, Sylvia S. Trunnell and her husband, Jerry, of Gaithersburg, MD, and Gennie Dorr and her husband, Ken, of Summerville; and a grandson, Matthew Crawford.
