He was a gambler, he knew when to Hold’em, he knew when to fold’em. He could fix almost anything, appliances, cars etc. He could grow food in a garden and keep all his kids fed. He played the guitar and sang country songs. He was really proud that he was in the Navy. Santa Rosa had a Navy base back in the early 50’s and that’s how and when he met my Mom. He told me that he wishes he could purge all his past mistakes and start his life over. It seemed to me that he was asking for forgiveness from me, and I did forgive him.
