Keetah was one of our beloved dogs. We got her when she was a young puppy but I don't know exactly how old she was, I guess about two or three months. We chose her birth date as approximately Nov. 25th. We got her from a farmer who wanted to give them away. Keetah had a brother that also needed a home, if they didn't find a new home soon the owners were going to have them put to sleep. They were what most people refer to as mutts because they were a mixed breed. They were German Shepherd, Husky, Samoyed and Collie. We fell in love with them immediately. Keetah was a beautiful black and white sleek furred girl (looking like a German Shepherd and Husky) and her brother Shangra was a fluffy ball of curly blonde and white fur (resembling the Samoyed and Collie). They didn't look like brother and sister at all. Our daughter took a liking to Keetah and I was taken aback by Shangra. Actually we couldn't make a decision so my wonderful husband said "we'll just take them both". What an adventure that was over the next several years. They added so much love and fun to our family. We never regretted taking them both. It was a sad day when they got old and sick and we had to part with them. Keetah became very lame and could no longer walk or control her bodily functions so we had to have her put to sleep. She outlived her brother by about three and a half years. We cried many tears when we had to have her put to sleep but we knew she wouldn't be suffering any more. We had lost another true and faithful friend. I am sure she was happy to rejoin her brother and they are both running in the fields together over the Rainbow bridge.
