Mary Kowaleski Dyke, 87, of the 200 block of E. Ottawa Road, died Oct. 17, 2000, at her residence.
Born in Charleston, S.C., Mrs. Dyke was the daughter of the late Theodore Kowaleski and the late Jennie Baranski Kowaleski. She was a homemaker and a member of the Polish-American Society. She was also predeceased by her husband, Howard Dyke; a son, Frederick W. Dyke III; and two brothers, Henry and Victor Kowaleski.
She is survived by two daughters, Janis Wallace and her husband, Ben, of Virginia Beach, and Phyllis Schmitt and her husband, Joe, of Metuchen, N.J.; a sister, Adele Kucharski of Pahrump, Nev.; six grandchildren, Jennifer and Matt Wallace, Christopher Dyke and David, Brian and Fred Schmitt; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Biloxi, Miss., with burial in Biloxi National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the National Wildlife Federation, 8925 Leesburg Pike, Vienna, VA 22184. Cremation Society of Virginia is in charge of arrangements.
