TWO MEN DIE IN SUNDAY'S AUTO CRASHES
Dallas County's forty-first and forty-second traffic accident victims were added to the list Sunday when Milton Kinnard Miller, 18, of 5614 Worth, and J. D. Mash, 63, of Morgan Street in Arcadia Park were killed in smashups in different parts of the county.
With his skull fractured and left arm badly lacerated, Mr. Miller died in Baylor Hospital at 3:10 PM Sunday, 10 hours after he had a traffic accident at Gaston and Dumas.
As he was crossing the intersection, Mr. Miller's car was struck by a car driven by Paul Cooper, 25, of 6955 Lakeshore Drive.
A light pole was snapped in two places by the force of the collision and a D. P. & L. squad had to make a speedy repair job to restore current at 4:50 AM when the accident occurred.
Roe Lee, 18, of 319 Augusta, who was in the car with Mr. Miller, was also taken to Baylor by the city ambulance and treated for lacerations on his left shoulder and minor bruises.
Following an investigation of the accident by Flay Nelson, special traffic officer, Mr. Cooper was arrested and released on a $200 cash bond. He will be charged with negligent homicide Monday morning in the District Attorney's office by Mr. Nelson.
Student of Texas
Mr. Miller had finished his sophomore year's work at the University of Texas. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Wayne A. McDaniel, his step-father Wayne A. McDaniel, and a brother Fox Miller, Jr. (NOTE: This was actually Fountain Fox Miller, III, who was my father.), all of Dallas.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Monday at George A. Brewer's Funeral Chapel, 3603 Ross, with Dr. L. N. D. Wells, pastor, East Dallas Christian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
His schoolmates and intimate friends will act as pallbearers. They are Morgan Cox, Dean Robertson, Buckner Clark Coleman, Billie Greiner, Edward Phillips, all of Dallas, and Harris Thilquist of Austin.
---------------
The additional evidence is that this article refers to his age at the time of death as 18. His month and day of birth was September 22nd, and he died in July 1936. If his year of birth was 1918, he would only have been age 17 in July 1936.
