Mrs. C. Ferguson Resident of Novesta
Township 43 Years
Mrs. Colin Ferguson, 72, a resident for 43 years of Novesta
township, passed away in her home Tuesday evening following a
stroke which she suffered May 30.
The former Miss Phoebe Teskey was born Aug. 16, 1871, near
Wimot, in Kingston township. She taught schools in Tuscola county
for eight years and on Mar. 21, 1901, at Caro, was united in
marriage to Colin Ferguson. To this union were born four children
who survive. They are Mrs. Eldon Bruce of Deford, Ernest Ferguson
of Novesta, Jack Ferguson of Kingston and Pfc. Harold Ferguson
of Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Howard
Fenner, of Fairgrove and two brothers, E. J. Teskey of Kalamazoo
and Dr. Edw. Teskey of Hill City, South Dakota. Mr. Ferguson
passed away several years ago.
Mrs. Ferguson was a long time member of the Novesta Church of
Christ and a teacher in the Sunday school there for more than 25 years.
Funeral services will be held Friday a 1 p.m. in the Douglas Funeral Home and at 2 p.m. in the Novesta Church of Christ.
Ali B. Jarman of Manton will officiate and burial will be in Novesta cemetery.
