Son of Lester Joseph Evans and Nadine (Cox) Evans. Born at Independence Sanitarium, while his parents lived at Lawson, MO.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps (1968-1970); honorably discharged as a Corporal; after serving in the Vietnam War as a 10-ton wrecker driver and diesel mechanic.
Married Doris Jean Rose March 25, 1971 at the Jackson County courthouse in Kansas City, MO.
Father of Shauna (Evans) Shipley and Michael 'Shae' Evans.
Grandfather of Rachelle, Drew, (also Jonathan, Morgan, Lawson, Boone and Adrianna; who were born after his death).
He worked in the paint department of the K.C. Ford Assembly Plant for 27 years, he was the first left handed painter in the KC plant; later becoming a paint mixer. Many people at the Ford plant knew him as "Lefty". He medically retired in 1994.
Mick loved to ride off-road motorcycles and dune buggies. He made many trips to Colorado and Chadwick Motorcycle Park in southern MO; also Minnesota, Arkansas and the sand dunes of Oklahoma and the Oregon Coast.
He was an accomplished welder, self taught; he made items ranging from flower pot hangers, trailers, a smoker-grill to an all-steel corral.
He died from cardiomyopathy at home.
He is survived by his wife, two children, two grandchildren, his father (and Dorothy), one brother Randy (and Pam); aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, one nephew and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and an infant sister, Tona Rae.
A memorial was held March 18, 1998 at Jarman Funeral Home, Lawson, MO. The processional took over two hours for his friends to stand in line to pay their respects. Numerous times it was repeated: "I lost my best friend."
His cremains were buried in the Francis Cemetery, Cull, MO.

This is an appropriate good-bye from Mick:
When I come to the end of the road,
And the sun has set for me.
I want no rites in a gloom filled room;
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not too long;
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me - but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take;
And each must go alone.
It's all a part of the Master's plan,
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart,
Go to the friends we know;
And bury your sorrow in doing good deeds;
Miss me - but let me go.
