Mrs. Berta Lee Francis, 74, of West Plains, died Thursday at West Plains Memorial Hospital. She was born in Oregon County, MO, August 7, 1901; the daughter of the late J.H. and Effie (Heard) Huddleston.
On December 25, 1916 she was married at Rover, MO to Franklin Francis, who preceded her in death April 29, 1968.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church for many years, with her present membership being in Junction Hill Assembly of God near West Plains.
Survivors include 10 children, Freda Mae Clark of Eugene, Oregon; Floyd Francis of West Plains, MO; Charleen Parent of West Plains, MO; Modena Rose of Independence, MO; R.C. Francis of Springfield, MO; Thelma Russell of Koshkonong, MO; Evelyn Thomson of Independence, MO; Wanda Jackson of Augusta, Kansas; Franklin Francis of Independence, MO; and Duane Francis of Independence, MO; 34 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Vina Perkins of Koshkonong, MO; Pinkie Chastain of Koshkonong, MO; Maggie Bell of Chicago, Illinois; and Inez Boles of Springfield, MO.
Her parents, her husband, one son; seven brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends Sunday in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains. Funeral services will be Monday in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Interment will be beside her husband in Francis Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
