A copy of the 1928 transcription of the gravestones here gives the date of Zenas' death as May 8, 1829, and his age at that time as "60". Had he been 60 in 1829, however, his birth year would have been c.1769, making him 6 years old when the Revolutionary War began and 14 when it ended. It seems more likely that his birth year was closer to that of his wife, Naomi, who was born c.1759, and who died at age 79 in 1838. Consequently, Zenas' s d.o.b. had been listed as "Unknown" until Findagrave nember #47732910, "jujulynne", provided the date May 30, 1762. Thus he would have fought for American independence as a young man in his teens and early 20's.
