His hobbies were football (go Redskins!), fishing and golfing.
He is survived by his wife: Karen Friend; Father, Delbert Friend, Sr. and step-mother Jo Ann, his children: daughters: Lisa Songer and husband Skip, of Anchorage, Alaska, daughter; Heidi Friend of Longview, Washington, son; Jeffrey Friend and wife Stacy of Scappoose, Oregon; Stepsons: Joseph Ventris of Salems and Andrew Ventris and his wife Kathern of Scappoose; Grandchildren: Courtney and Quincy Songer, Ethan and Tessa Friend, and Kaitlyn Ventris. His brother Floyd Friend and wife Debra of St. Helens, Oregon and sister Connie Massey of Roosevelt, Utah.
