Husband of Mandy Schuler Blackwell.

He was a member of the Blue Ridge Fire Department; member of the Dana Baptist Church, and a U.S. Army veteran.

In addition to his wife, Mandy, he is survived by daughters, Schuyler & Layla; his father, Danny Blackwell; stepmother, Michelle Blackwell; sisters, Mandi (Bryan) Duncan, and Nikki (Wayne) Stepp, all of Hendersonville; brother, Daniel (T.C.) Blackwell, Fort Campbell, KY; his paternal grandparents, Rev. Dan (Marie) Blackwell; nephew, Malachi Duncan, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Lee Carter.

Interment in the Church graveyard followed funeral services conducted Saturday, November 21, 2009; Rev. Paul B. Thompson presided.

Full military rites were performed by members of the Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post No. 77, Hedrick-Rhodes Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Post No. 5206, Chapter 14 of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and the North Carolina Honor Guard.
