MRS. LOVEJOY DIES OF SHORT ILLNESS
Mrs. J. O. Lovejoy died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. M. Stewart, 1612 Broadway. She had been in ill health for the past several years, but hadn't been seriously sick until the past week and was confined to her bed.
She was born in Northport, Long Island, N. Y., and when she was 18 years old moved with her parents to Rippey, Iowa. She was married there to J. O. Lovejoy and they moved to Atwood, Kansas, where they lived until 1907 when they moved to Lawrence to educate their children. They lived there until 1927 at which time they moved to Parsons and stayed until 1935. They then moved to Berkeley, CA where Mr. Lovejoy died in 1936. Mrs. Lovejoy moved back to Parsons last September [1939] and has been here ever since.
She was a member of the Methodist church all through her life.
Survivors include five children, Mrs. Ethel Beaver, Dallas; Mrs. Robert Hurd, Albuquerque, NM; Mrs. Edith Boynton, Berkeley, California; Mrs. Elizabeth Stewart, Parsons; and Owen H. Lovejoy, Kansas City, MO; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Irving Sammis, Huntington, NY.
Funeral services will be conducted at the home of the daughter, 1612 Broadway, by the Rev. Oliver M. Keye, pastor of the First Methodist Church and burial will be Berkeley, CA. The Carson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Gravesite Details
Love Lovejoy and her husband James Oscar Lovejoy were both cremated and their ashes are in a niche at Sunset Mausoleum and Columbarium in El Cerrito, CA.
