Police Sgt. John J. Kratzmeyer, 53, of the detective bureau, died of a heart attack yesterday in Alexian Brothers Hospital after he collapsed in his home at 1705 Sheffield Ave. He joined the police department 31 years ago and was promoted to sergeant three years ago. Survivors are his widow, Nona, a son, John Jr., a student at Purdue University, and two daughters, Mrs. Mary Ellen Karlson and Mrs. Florence Steffen. A requiem Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Vincent de Paul Church. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery.
