A Former Cordova Citizen Died Aug. 8th
Richard N. Henderson, a well-known former citizen of Cordova, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Brauer, in Oklahoma City, Okla. on August 8th. He had made his home with his daughter for the past six years, or since the death of his wife. His remains were brought back to the old home community, and the funeral was held at Cordova last Friday. Rev. Harris, of Waterville, assisted by Rev. Castles, conducted the services.
The deceased was born in the British Isles on January 25, 1836, and was well in his eighty-sixth year. When a boy he came to Canada, and later to Cordova, where he resided until six years ago. He was a staunch and faithful member of the U. B. Church for over 40 years and a whole-souled believer in his creator to the last. He was the father of ten children, of whom one son and four daughters survive. They are: Peter N. Henderson, Northfield; Mrs. Thos. W. Tandy, Mrs. Ray Curtis, Portland, Oregon; Mrs. J. Lee Curtis, Neodesha, Kansas; Mrs. Geo. H. Brauer, Oklahoma City, Okla.
Mrs. Robert J. Henderson and daughter, Clara, of Stillwater, Minn., were here for the funeral.
Old friends of the deceased will regret to learn of his passing. He had a great many acquaintances in this county. Cordova Newslets 1921
